Discover how recycled materials can become tools for imaginative play and artistic expression. We'll explore the creative potential of common materials such as corrugated cardboard, cereal boxes, tubes, milk jug caps, fabric scraps, egg cartons, plastic containers, old magazines, scrap wood, and even bubble wrap. Learn practical techniques for building sturdy 3D structures and explore ways to inspire children’s open-ended creations. We’ll also discuss how to set up and manage an “Imagination Station” that invites ongoing exploration while staying organized. By the end of the session, you'll leave with fresh ideas for integrating sustainability into your creative curriculum, practical tips for material management, and strategies for fostering children's problem-solving and artistic skills.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will identify and explore creative uses for a variety of recycled materials, such as cardboard, bottle caps, and fabric scraps, to spark children's imagination and promote sustainability.

Participants will explore techniques for constructing sturdy 3D creations and supporting children in open-ended building and design.

Participants will develop strategies for setting up and managing a well-organized “Imagination Station,” fostering child-led creativity while maintaining an accessible and tidy creative space.
